Standard Site Install

This service comes with every automated color management solution purchase.
Once completed, a fully functioning install is in place and your team is trained to manage quality from that point forward.
The install includes software configuration, hardware, and operational process improvement.
Our standard pricing includes travel to any location in North America for up to three printer/press standards (aka print conditions like GRACoL, FOGRA39, SWOP, etc.).

1. Preparation (Prep): The purpose of the prep phase is to ensure all checklist items for a successful install are complete before travel. This includes validation of software configuration, image quality of the target printers/presses, and training for onsite personnel. It is critical that all preventive maintenance and software upgrades are completed before the install team arrives.

2. Install: Once onsite, target devices are evaluated for color stability. The Digital Front Ends (RIPs) are configured for the Total Print Condition selected by the customer. The paper inventory is evaluated and put into groups to yield the most accurate and predictable color rendition. Custom ICC profiles are generated and optimized for print technology, paper catalog, and the selected press standards for CMYK and RGB.

3. Post-Install Baselining: Measurement data are collected and analyzed (daily at first) to monitor for measurement and calibration procedure compliance. Once the data reflects a controlled production process, baseline targets are established. At this point, the device is managed and monitored against the established targets and tolerances. AxCM will support these activities for 30 days post-install.

Print Migration

AxCM’s Print Migration service expands our Standard Site Install to include printer emulation not defined by an established industry standard.
This service is required when a print service provider needs to move a print buyer’s page volume from one print technology to another while maintaining the same “look and feel” of an existing print workflow.

Digital print vendors use varied marketing technologies to put marks on paper. This makes migrating print volume both unpredictable and costly.

AxCM’s Print Migration service is an option for the Standard Site Install. The standard install focuses on established print conditions typically reserved for CMYK print standards. Here we tune for custom RGB rendering.
Vendor print migration is one of the most challenging tasks in color workflow design. Aqueous in and toner products are notoriously diverse, even within a single vendor’s product portfolio.
There are many other factors that make print migration challenging, such as prepress processing, digital font end (DFE) configuration, and print engine settings. AxCM will evaluate your existing workflow and design a new custom workflow to achieve the best possible match.

With this service, your team will be supported by a 2×5 “Color Master,” allowing you to focus on day-to-day operations.
This long-term service is contracted annually, and incorporates sustained and efficient statistical process control for manufacturing across your entire print enterprise.
We will work with you and your management team to provide regular quality briefings including quality metrics and progress reports. We work directly with locations that are struggling to meet established corporate quality guidelines.
